Currently working on the history of Australian television drama, from the writer's perspective, and conducting interviews with writers on behalf of the Australian Writers' Guild. Recently awarded a Frederick Watson Fellowship from the National Archives of Australian to examine the holdings of early ABC drama material.
I am general editor of the Cambria Press Australian Literature series, publishing monographs on Australian writing, particularly contemporary fiction.
Until about 1993 my criticism was published under the name Susan McKernan.
