About
I spent more than 20 years working as a presenter, researcher, journalist, producer and director, for commercial television and for public service radio & TV, including the BBC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and the SBS in Sydney. I moved into the academy in 1997, continuing freelance work for some years, and completed my PhD in 2004, on policy and audience construction in ABC Radio News. My research interests are public media, audiences, the introduction of new media, media ethics, and broadcast journalism education. My teaching experience has been in media and journalistic writing, radio and video journalism, online media production, and media law and ethics.
